Musings of a Wiccan Priest

Wiccan is one of the fastest-growing religions in the United States, but Wicca is not for everyone. The great thing about humanity is that it is so creative. We, as a species have invented so many ways of interfacing with deity. Some religions see deity as one, others see deity as many. There are many good, valid, and decent religious paths one can explore in the course of a lifetime. If you feel that Wicca is your spiritual calling, blessed be! If not, there's no hard feelings.

Wicca is an inclusive, life-affirming faith. The religion has no built-in discrimination or hate. While television and cinema portray the faith as being obsessed with power and spells, the true focus of the religion is understanding and working with the wonder, beauty, and majesty of the ecology and the universe. Like many faiths, we ask "Why are we here? What is our life's purpose? How can we know deity? How can we help humanity to be better, kinder, and more loving?"

Rather than being a dogmatic faith, Wicca leaves these important questions up for the believer to determine for himself or herself. We don't know all the answers. But we believe that over the course of many lifetimes, our souls may educated.
